ABC specialises in industrial accident investigation and training. Working closely with employers we strive to identify the underlying failure areas behind industrial accidents, or alternatively provide training for those responsible for this function.
It is very important that you keep records of all training to show that it is being carried out. It is also sensible to get anyone who has attended training to sign to say that they have been trained.
ABC is able to provide a number of training courses in industrial accident investigation. The courses are designed to provide industry with the skills required to evaluate a loss event and to identify the related causal failures whilst working within national legal frameworks.
Accidents at work are very costly, both in direct compensation and loss of production and in the damage that is done to employee and public relations and morale. Effective investigation and reporting of accidents and near misses gives invaluable information to help businesses improve their health and safety procedures, and rectify the cause to ensure that the problem does not occur again.
This one-day course provides the practical skills required by anyone who is involved in accident or incident investigation at work. It is based on a number of real accidents and includes a practical exercise to allow the participants to practise the investigation skills taught on the course.
What skills and information will they learn?
After successfully completing this course, participants will:
- Understand what accidents and incidents are (including near misses) and how they are caused
- Understand the reasons for reporting and investigating accidents and incidents
- Be able to carry out an accident investigation at work and recommend improvements to prevent it happening again
